No Jail Can Confine Your Poems

In a heartwarming display of global solidarity, 110 poets have contributed their verses to Baamdaad _ House Of Poetry In Exile, sending a powerful message of support to Afghan poets and taking a stand against censorship and repression. The inaugural anthology, “No Jail Can Confine Your Poems,” hit the shelves in Japan on August 15, 2023, featuring the profound works of 57 poets.

The selection process involved curating poems from Japanese wordsmiths and international contributors who submitted their masterpieces in English, with each country represented by one striking piece. Despite facing time constraints and limited resources, the organizers managed to put together this remarkable collection on a voluntary basis.

Excitingly, the movement doesn’t end there. The upcoming collection, slated for release in France this November in the French language, promises to be even more inclusive. Organizers are committed to incorporating all submitted poems, highlighting the rich tapestry of voices that echo in unity against censorship. This initiative not only celebrates poetry as a powerful form of expression but also underscores the unwavering dedication of poets worldwide to champion freedom of speech and artistic expression.
